Visit to Haeffner Farm

Hermann, Missouri offers the charm of old Germany and beautiful vineyards in the hills above town. It is a quaint city that is nestled along the banks of the Missouri River. It is the center of Missouri's wine industry, whose location and beauty is one for everyone to see.

The Haeffner Farm is located in the foothills that surround Hermann where Cindy, with her husband Joy, has lived in rural Hermann for 35 years. She also works with Joy, a CFP with Money Concepts Capital Corp., and is actively involved in farming their family’s commercial cattle farms, in a conservation minded manner.

As it often does, daffodil growing and collecting began rather innocently for Cindy. In the early 1980s, a family friend introduced her to daffodils that were fragrant, such as ‘Cheerfulness’, and she was entranced! She began showing daffodils in 2004 and her first National Award was received at the 2005 National Convention in St. Louis, the Olive Lee Trophy Award for 'Avalanche'. At the 2009 National Convention in Chicago, she won the English Award & Silver Ribbon. As the years have progressed, she now grows approximately 2,500 varieties and in 2009 started hybridizing.

After daffodil tours and lunch at the Haeffner Farm you will have the opportunity to stroll and shop the historic Hermann riverfront and sample beverages from the local vineyards.

In the late afternoon, we will gather at the Inn at Hermannhof Festhalle to participate in a rousing daffodil bulb auction followed by a delicious dinner. The ADS Annual Meeting will follow, and for the evening’s entertainment you will have an opportunity to demonstrate your polka skills as the Loehnig German Band provides a festive finale to the day.
