RULES FOR 2008 DAFFODIL PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW
The Photography Show will operate much as in
recent years, subject to the following rules and guidelines:
Exhibitors should bring their photo entries to
the Carriage House of the Shaw Nature Reserve from Friday, April 4th, after 6
PM or Saturday, April 5th before 9:30 AM. Judging will take place before the
Show is opened to the public.
All photographs should be mounted on stiff
card stock or foam board. Conventional matting is acceptable but not required.
The maximum size of any image is 11" X 14" and the minimum size is
8" in any direction. Mats for images should not exceed 11" X
14".
All entries must be the work of the exhibitor
and must contain images of one or more daffodils, as prescribed by the class.
Entries must not have been shown at a previous Greater St. Louis Daffodil
Society Show.
The
exhibitor's name and classification as amateur, professional, or youth must be
affixed to the back of each photo submitted, and the entry class should be
included there. An entry will only be considered complete when an information
card is filled out.
At most two monochrome and two color entries
may be submitted by an exhibitor for each class. Monochrome and color entries
may be subdivided upon the judges' decision.
Ribbon awards will be made to the best
amateur, professional, and youth photograph in each class. The judges may
divide a section to accommodate other themes or a large number of entries in a
class.
In general, the rules for the Horticultural
Section will guide the approach to judging decisions and the awards presented.
Decisions of the judges are final.
The Greater St. Louis Daffodil Society will
exercise caution in safeguarding exhibits but cannot assume responsibility for
lost or damaged photographs.
Entries may be picked up after 4:00 p.m. on
April 6th unless special arrangements are made with the Show Chairman.
A photograph may be entered in one the following
classes using Amateur, Professional, or Youth designation.
